Countywide : Bungee-Jumping Allowed to Resume

It’s back to jumping for a group of performers at the Ventura County Fair.

A bungee-jumping exhibition that was shut down Monday by the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration was allowed to reopen Wednesday after Topa Topa Outdoor Adventures received a permit for a crane used during the performances, fair publicist Terry Raleysaid.

“They found a new crane which Cal-OSHA would approve for bungee diving,” Raley said.

The Fillmore company had to replace its original crane because it lacked proper safety equipment, a Cal-OSHA spokesman said.

Cal-OSHA requires bungee-jumping exhibitors to get a permit if the jumps are made from portable equipment.
