Nation IN BRIEF : COLORADO : Bill to Restore Death Penalty Advances

The Colorado Legislature voted in Denver to restore the death penalty, two months after the state Supreme Court declared the previous capital punishment law unconstitutional. Senators approved the measure overwhelmingly on a voice vote. Last week, the state House approved the same bill. A final Senate vote is expected later this week to send the legislation to Gov. Roy Romer, who has said he will sign it into law.
