Where Credit Is Due: One of the writers of an early screenplay for “The Godfather Part III” has lost his suit in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles seeking credit for the movie. Nick Marino’s suit tried to overturn a Writers Guild of America arbitration ruling that denied him credit for the film. Judge William J. Rhea upheld the guild’s credits determination for the movie, which gave producer-director Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo full on-screen credit for the sequel to their screenplays for “The Godfather” and “The Godfather Part II.” The judge found that the guild hearing Marino received was a fair one.
