Pollution Research Awarded Contracts Worth $1.2 Million

Pollution Research and Control Corp., a Glendale supplier of pollution measuring instruments, said it has received three foreign contracts worth more than $1.2 million for its air pollution monitoring equipment.

The largest contract, from the South Korean Environmental Protection Agency, is worth at least $630,000 and could go as high as $900,000 if the agency buys optional spare parts. The agency also awarded Pollution Research and Control a $200,000 contract for a new pollutant monitor vehicle.

In addition, the company received a $400,000 contract to provide Barcelona, Spain, with an air pollution monitoring system.

Separately, Pollution Research and Control said its wholly owned subsidiary, Pacific Region Commerce Corp., has entered into an agreement to form a joint venture with Souda Corp., a Japanese importing firm, to export a variety of products to the Far East.

Meanwhile, Pacific Region has acquired a 20% interest in Converging Systems Inc., an Atlanta software company, for a $1-million unsecured note.
