Re “Buy American, or Maybe Japanese,” by Richard Reeves, Commentary, Dec. 29:
It is quite disturbing to find that our leaders and representatives, present and past, seem to be on another country’s payroll. They used to call that treason. I wonder how long George Deukmejian was working on this deal? He was in a hurry to leave his last job. I thought it was because of the terrible job he had done. But we find there was another reason.
I hope in the future that people who work for the government have to sign agreements that they will not work for a foreign interest.
