GRIM DAYS AT GRANT HIGH

It was heartbreaking to read about Grant High School, which both our sons attended in its glory days 20 years ago. Thanks largely to Grant’s top-quality educational program and the motivation of caring teachers, our older son is now a research scientist at a major state university.
His equally talented brother’s life was cut short by a drunken driver. As a memorial to him and with the generous support of scores of friends, our family was able to set up a modest scholarship fund to assist future Grant graduates who share our son’s commitment to multicultural understanding--especially fitting, we thought, in view of Grant’s changed student population.
