Thumbs Up: Thumbelina may just be a tiny slip of a girl, but MGM is hoping she’ll bring big bucks at the box office. The studio has signed animator Don Bluth to make “Thumbelina,” a film based on the Hans Christian Andersen character, as part of a three-picture deal. The other two: “A Troll in Central Park,” about a troll who creates flowers with a touch of his hands, and “The Pebble and the Penguin,” a musical adventure about a penguin who battles the elements and enemies to return to Antarctica.
