May Co. Store

I read with some amusement the insistence of City Council President John Ferraro on preserving the May Co. building at Fairfax and Wilshire (Feb. 29). Granted, this monstrosity well represents the vulgar style for which Los Angeles is so famous, but is that reason for preserving it? Seems to me the best argument to tear it down.
