Poland Is Safe

I read the travel bulletin entitled “Visitors to Polish Cities Warned Against Thieves,” March 15, with some consternation. Having recently returned from a trip to Poland I can attest to the relative safety of the country. While caution needs to be exerted during any travel experience (we all tend to stick out like sore thumbs when we’re tourists), Poland is no less safe than any other nation in which to travel. Rather than thieves, the only denizens of the airports, hotels, restaurants and train stations that I observed were Western businessmen.
