* Less-thirsty lawns start with a good aeration in the spring. This promotes deep water penetration and healthier lawns to enjoy all summer.

* Pest-free apples start with applications of diazinon after 70% of blossoms have fallen. Follow up with more applications when the fruit is the size of a dime, quarter and half dollar.
