AEROSPACE & DEFENSE

From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Court Action on LTV Sale Postponed: A decision on the sale of LTV Corp.’s aerospace unit was put off until today because the judge overseeing the auction said he needed more time to review the offers. A ruling on the sale had been expected Thursday but was delayed by hours of testimony in a hearing by supporters of two competing bids. Dallas-based LTV, under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection since 1986, is selling its aerospace division as part of a reorganization plan that will leave it with its steel business. The firm filed for bankruptcy because of huge pension liabilities.
