OCEANSIDE : Man Dies When Bus Hits His Stalled Car

A Santa Monica man was killed early Sunday when his car apparently stalled on Interstate 5 southbound near Oceanside and was rammed from behind by a bus, authorities said.
Jose Cruz Perez, 41, died at the scene from multiple injuries, a San Diego County medical examiner’s spokesman said. Frank Asaro, 38, of Vista, the driver of the bus, was not hurt.
The incident occurred about 4:20 a.m. just south of the Santa Margarita River. Perez’s car appeared to be stalled in the No. 4 lane when the bus, traveling at an estimated 55 to 60 m.p.h., struck it in the rear.
