Wang to Cut 1,000 Jobs: Wang Laboratories Inc. said it will eliminate 1,000 positions in the next several months as part of an ongoing cost-cutting effort. The Lowell, Mass., firm said it will take a write-down in the fourth quarter ending June 30 to pay for the reductions. Wang said its current payroll is about 13,500.
