LESS ROAR: Local developer William Lyon, above, has been on the Forbes 400 list of America’s wealthiest people since 1987. But the recession has devastated real estate values, and Forbes has been whittling away at his standing: from 238th in 1987 to 295th last year, with a fortune estimated at $350 million. Now sources say Lyon is likely to drop entirely off the list to be published in October. A spokesman said Lyon probably will be delighted if Forbes quits speculating about his wealth.
