Fall Into River Fatal to Boater

A Garden Grove man drowned Sunday when his inflatable dinghy collapsed in the San Diego River in Santee, San Diego County sheriff’s officials said.
Several people saw Nhanh Huynh, 32, in the river after his boat deflated near Chubb Lane and Magnolia Avenue about 2:40 p.m., sheriff’s dispatch supervisor Charlotte Flowers said.
According to witnesses, the victim apparently did not know how to swim, she said.
