Wimp Sanderson, then-Alabama basketball coach, slapped his secretary, Nancy Watts, when she implied that he was having an affair with another member of the athletic department, Watts said in a suit filed Tuesday in Birmingham. The suit against Sanderson, Athletic Director Hootie Ingram and school trustees claims Watts was required to work “in a hostile environment which was tainted by impermissible sex and gender discrimination.” Sanderson resigned May 18.
