Sixth-seeded Sergi Bruguera of Spain defeated Gabriel Markus of Argentina, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-1), in the semifinals of the Swiss Open at Gstaad. Francisco Clavet defeated Fabrice Santoro of France, 6-3, 6-2, to make it an all-Spanish final.
