Batman Boffo in Britain: “Batman Returns” may have dropped to fourth place in the weekend box-office charts in this country, but the film’s opening weekend in the United Kingdom set a record for Warner Bros. The gross of $5.3 million in 369 theaters beat the previous record established by “Terminator 2.” “Batman Returns” took in $2.1 million on Saturday, a high for a single day, Warner Bros. said.
