* Daniel H. Schoessow, Julie D. Gallant and Carolyn Swain have been named vice presidents of Northern Trust of California, the trust and investment management subsidiary of Northern Trust Corp.

Schoessow is responsible for managing equity and fixed-income assets in excess of $150 million for private trusts, investment advisory accounts and employee benefit trusts. He was with Trust Services of America Inc. before joining Northern Trust.

Gallant is responsible for managing equity and fixed-income assets in excess of $450 million for private trusts and investment advisory accounts. She formerly was with Trust Services of America Inc. and Wells Fargo Bank.

Swain is responsible for the administration of personal and testamentary trusts, conservatorships, probates and agency accounts. She formerly was with Trust Services of America Inc. and Bank of Boston.
