MAKE ROOM OR ELSE: Orange County Supervisor Harriett M. Wieder, a pro-choice Republican, is still holding out on endorsing George Bush for reelection. . . . “I’ll wait for the Republican convention next month,” Wieder says. Bush is anti-abortion, and some GOP faithful want that message in the party platform. . . . But Wieder warns: “If Bush or the party doesn’t make any room for people like me, they’ll be deciding my vote for me.”
