Victim’s Estate Wins Suit Over Train Death

A Superior Court jury found CSX Corp. negligent in its maintenance of a rural railroad crossing and awarded $3.25 million to the estate of a woman killed in an accident there.

Mary Hardy, 39, was killed Aug. 4, 1987, at the crossing near Grifton, several miles south of Greenville.
