Merry August: August it may be, but ‘50s recording legends Darlene Love and Ronnie Spector will be “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree” today at A&M; Recording Studios in Hollywood. That’s the title of a song they will record for “A Very Special Christmas II,” a sequel to a 1987 album of holiday music by pop musicians that raised more than $17 million for the Special Olympics. Both Love and Spector also recorded holiday songs for the classic Phil Spector Christmas album of 1962.
