LATC Tenants: A list of arts organizations that might operate the former Spring Street home of the Los Angeles Theatre Center company was put before a City Council committee meeting Monday afternoon. Five groups in the proposed cooperative--Mark Taper Forum/Latino Theatre Lab, Bilingual Foundation of the Arts, Bethune Dance Company, Airshow (a sign-language company) and Music Center Opera (for educational programs)--plan to use the facility’s midsize stages. The others--Artists’ Collective, Cold Tofu, the Directors’ Lab, and Will and Company--would use the 99-seat Theatre 4, rehearsal rooms and offices. Cultural Affairs Department General Manager Adolfo Nodal also released a list of eight other “preferred renters.” Nodal is to submit a more detailed proposal to the council next month.
