Seattle-Bound: Deborah Rutter, executive director of Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 1986, will take the same post at the Seattle Symphony in November. Rutter, 35, assumes the duties following the February resignation, for personal reasons, of vice president and managing director Ed Birdwell. Before taking over leadership at the LACO, Rutter was orchestra manager of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Assn. for eight years. A spokesman for the chamber orchestra said that during Rutter’s tenure, she has overseen “remarkable” fiscal growth. Earned income has tripled, contributed income has doubled, and this year, LACO created its first endowment fund.
