From Staff and Wire Reports

The Clippers and veteran forward Ken Norman, scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after this season, are discussing a long-term contract extension that would begin in 1993-94 and hope to have the deal done by the start of training camp Oct. 9.

“I just don’t think it’s in my best interest or the team’s best interest for negotiations to be going on during the season,” said Norman, who will earn $1.4 million in 1992-93.
