2 Baltic States to Get Their First IMF Loans

Estonia and Latvia, two of the three Baltic states formerly occupied by the Soviet Union, will get their first help this week from the International Monetary Fund, a senior fund official disclosed Sunday.

Sources at the fund said it will offer Latvia a loan of about $81 million and Estonia about $41 million and that it is finalizing arrangements with Lithuania, the third Baltic state.
