AMERICAN HIM: Actor Edward James Olmos is another celebrity appearing here today, but for a much different reason. Olmos will be at Music Plus on Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa from noon to 2. . . . He’ll talk with fans about his project to help youth stay out of street gangs. Music Plus stores in Southern California have arranged with Olmos to turn over to his cause part of the proceeds from the video rentals of “American Me,” Olmos’ movie about gang violence.
