SAN DIEGO : Embezzler Given 21 Months in Jail

A Murrieta man was sentenced Monday to 21 months in prison after he pleaded guilty in San Diego federal court to one count of embezzling $260,000 from HomeFed Bank.
Richard Scott Hansen, 32, a bank employee, admitted that he embezzled the cash from May, 1986, through April, 1990, federal prosecutors said.
At a sentencing hearing Monday, U.S. District Judge Rudi M. Brewster ordered Hansen to surrender to federal marshals by Oct. 19. Brewster also ordered Hansen to pay back all $260,000, in monthly installments.
