2 Jewelry Salesmen Abducted, Robbed

Robbers confronted two jewelry salesmen Wednesday morning outside Westminster Mall, forcing them into a car and robbing them of their wares several miles away, police said.
As the salesmen were walking out of the mall at 9:15, three gunmen kidnaped them and drove north to Melanie Lane and Springdale Street, Sgt. Rick McKinney said.
On the way, the victims were tied up and blindfolded, and one of them was pistol-whipped, investigators said. The suspects were then met by a woman in another car and escaped with an unspecified amount of jewelry, McKinney said.
The salesmen worked themselves free and called police.
The salesmen are wholesalers who had been to the mall to meet with store owners. An investigation is continuing.
