Akihiro (Ike) Ikuhara, longtime assistant to Dodger President Peter O’Malley, died at Centinela Hospital Medical Center. He was 55. Ikuhara underwent surgery for stomach cancer at Keio University Hospital in Tokyo on June 18.
Ikuhara played a prominent role in the Dodgers’ international, amateur and professional baseball exchanges.
