Sam Brand, 77, dean of publicists for Jewish organizations on the West Coast. His clients included the Jewish Homes for the Aging, which he represented for 30 years, and the Hebrew Union College, which he publicized for more than 25 years. He also handled publicity for the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the University of Judaism, United Synagogue of America, the Jewish Theological Seminary, the United Jewish Welfare Fund, City of Hope, Hadassah, Brandeis Camp, Hebrew University, and the Jewish Centers Assn. On Thursday in Los Angeles of heart failure.
