From Staff and Wire Reports

A relatively small fleet of 19 boats will start the Los Angeles Yacht Club’s biennial race to Cabo San Lucas at noon today from a line midway of the breakwater between the Los Angeles and Long Beach port entrances. Light winds are forecast for the 802-nautical mile race. Officials expect the first boat--probably one of the eight ULDB 70s entered--to finish sometime late Wednesday.
