OXNARD : Man Killed in Crash Identified

A motorist who died in a four-vehicle collision between Oxnard and Ventura was identified Saturday as Edwin Claridad of Oxnard, the Highway Patrol said.
Claridad, 23, was driving south on Victoria Avenue north of Gonzales Road about 6 p.m. Friday when he crossed the median, clipped an oncoming pickup truck and then was struck by two other cars, the CHP said.
Claridad underwent surgery for major head injuries at Ventura County Medical Center but was pronounced dead about 2 1/2 hours after the accident, the CHP said. Two other drivers were injured in the crash.
