For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

* Bulbs are great gifts. Plant up several containers to give to friends over the holidays. Everyone likes blooming pots of bulbs.

* Late fall and winter are good times to move shrubs and trees from one location to another.

* If camellias have brown edges or the flowers aren’t opening properly, check with your local certified nursery person for a diagnosis. Chances are they have petal blight.

* Plant primrose, pansies, cinerarias, calendulas and nemesia for winter and early spring flowers. Ask nursery for planting tips.
