From Staff and Wire Reports

Skier Armin Assinger, still mourning the death of an Austrian teammate, scored his first World Cup victory by winning a super-G race at Bad Kleinkircheim, Austria.

Assinger edged Leonard Stock by 0.21 seconds, giving the shaken Austrian team a 1-2 finish three days after Peter Wirnsberger, a downhill specialist, was killed in a non-racing ski accident Sunday.
