A group headed by Olympic silver medalist Kevin Mahaney of Bangor, Me., and Team Dennis Conner have been accepted as a defense candidate for the 1995 America’s Cup.
The San Diego Yacht Club also announced that a third group, named the Pegasus Syndicate, the first all-women’s syndicate, has until March 1 to meet defense criteria.
