Canada Agrees to Audits of Wheat Pricing: Canada agreed to allow annual audits of the government board that prices its wheat, but a U.S.-Canada trade panel rejected complaints that the grain was being dumped in American markets. U.S. farmers claimed that Canadian farm subsidies violate a U.S.-Canada free trade agreement by undercutting American wheat prices. The trade panel, in a 50-page ruling, said the independent audits would be the best way of ensuring that Canada complies with the agreement while protecting the confidentiality of its pricing data.
