Laguna Beach’s Booth Defeated in Surf Finals

Australia’s Barton Lynch defeated Laguna Beach’s Jeff Booth in the finals of the Newcastle City Pro surfing championships Sunday at Newcastle Beach, Australia.
Booth won $2,100 and moved into second on the World Qualifying Series standings with the second-place finish. Newport Beach’s Richie Collins, who lost in the semifinals, is second in the overall standings.
