NME Sells Five Hospitals: National Medical Enterprises Inc. of Santa Monica said it has sold five psychiatric hospitals and reached agreement to sell a sixth. Facilities in New Mexico, Texas and Florida were sold, and agreement was reached to sell a hospital in Kansas, the company said. In May, 1992, NME announced a program to sell, close or convert more than 20 hospitals.
