Dutton’s Campaign: “Roc” star Charles S. Dutton is spearheading a campaign to use Los Angeles’ Marcus Garvey School as a national model for educating inner-city children. “It just makes sense to build on a foundation of success,” says Dutton about the frequently praised Slauson Avenue private school. “The Garvey model is a proven solution to the crisis in education in the inner city.” Singer Dionne Warwick, rapper Ice-T and other celebrities are lending Dutton their support on the project.
