KIGALI, Rwanda — Rwanda’s government and the rebel Rwandese Patriotic Front agreed Sunday to resettle 650,000 people displaced by renewed fighting early this year.
According to the agreement, the people will reclaim property in a northern demilitarized zone.
The agreement was signed in Kinihira, a small town 43 miles north of Rwanda’s capital, Kigali, after 20 days of negotiations between the government and rebels.
