Production Defended: French historian Alain Decaux said he feels “deeply wounded” by charges that his adaptation of the play “Jesus Was His Name” has anti-Semitic overtones. The $24-million international touring show was to have opened today at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, but was postponed indefinitely after religious leaders said the production implicates Jews in the crucifixion of Christ.
