New Charge Card for Businesses: American Express Co. said it will introduce the card to help corporations reduce paperwork and organize their small purchases. Chief Executive Harvey Golub, in remarks at a conference in New York, said American Express is aiming for “a preemptive position in the purchasing card system business,” and noted the competition from bank card issuers. He said the new card is being tried out by six client companies.
