Murdoch Says New York Post May Fold: Rupert Murdoch’s News America Publishing said it will stop trying to buy the newspaper unless it comes to terms with its unions by Friday. The Post is under federal bankruptcy protection, and Murdoch, who owned it for 12 years and sold it in 1988, has been running the paper since March. With no other buyer in sight, Murdoch gave the Post’s 11 unions a July 9 deadline after the Bankruptcy Court extended his operating agreement and said he could cancel on three days’ notice.
