WEEKEND TV : Cable Offers Original Movies Sunday

With the broadcast networks relying primarily on reruns, summer is a good time for the cable channels to lure new viewers with original programming. And three of them are making that effort this weekend with TV movies.

On Sunday, Showtime serves up “Chantilly Lace” at 8 p.m. and “Sexual Healing” at 10 p.m.; TNT begins a two-part biography of Alexander Graham Bell, “The Sound and the Silence,” at 5, 7 and 9 p.m.; and a new version of “Heidi,” starring Jason Robards and Jane Seymour, comes to the Disney Channel at 7 p.m. (Please see reviews on F14.)
