For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:
* Hydrangeas in tubs on a shaded patio or under a lath will add a large splash of color with their enormous blooms.
* To increase flower production on your geraniums and fuchsia, pinch them back.
* Don’t forget to keep your roses happy with monthly feedings of rose food.
* Stop those summer pests such as ants, lawn moths and earwigs before their damage becomes extensive. Check with your local nurserymen for recommendations.
