From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Strike Affecting Saturn Shipments Settled: The eight-day trucking strike, which cut shipments of Saturn automobiles in half, ended after a trucking company agreed to recognize the Teamsters union as the drivers’ collective bargaining agent. Drivers walked off the job Oct. 30 at Transportation Unlimited Inc., which supplies delivery truck drivers for cars built at the General Motors Corp. subsidiary in Spring Hill, Tenn., 35 miles south of Nashville. About 48% of the 1,100 Saturns built each day are shipped by truck.
