The Domino Impact of Bank’s Layoffs

The Times’ Oct. 23 headline “BankAmerica Says It Will Cut Up to 3,750 Jobs to Boost Profit” has got to be the most blatant admission of what our economic society has come to: self-interest greed. The domino financial impact of laying off 3,750 people may create better percentage points for some, but those same shareholders will pay dearly.
I thought I remembered a time when banks said they were here to help us. Second thing to go . . .
