Capistrano Valley Player Remains Hospitalized

Capistrano Valley goalkeeper Jason Felix, who was knocked unconscious after being kneed in the head during Wednesday’s game against Mission Viejo, remained hospitalized Thursday.

His mother, Priscilla, aid there was no damage to her son’s head, but she said he did suffer bruises to his spinal cord.

“A knee hit him in the cheek or neck and that caused a whiplash,” Priscilla Felix said.

Felix underwent an MRI Thursday night to see if his vertebrae or disk had been moved. Priscilla Felix said her son will remain in Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center until at least today until results of the MRI are available.
