Side Trips : Sky Art

Kites are bright, fluid bits of color in the sky, and colorful kites from every corner of the earth have been assembled at the World Kite Museum and Hall of Fame in Long Beach, Wash., for an exhibition called “Tethered Art.” European and Asian kites as well as contemporary and antique American ones are on display through June 30. The 5-year-old museum also maintains a permanent show of nearly 1,000 kites from around the world, as well as books, videos and photographs.
